“The Volcanes Community School is one of those places where you feel like home, you feel loved, welcomed, appreciated, included, and many more wonderful things.
This place is not like any other place I have been, it’s where I spent most of my childhood and teenage years. I took computer classes, math classes, English classes with not only Ms. Megan but with many other teachers who I remember with so much love and appreciation for everything they taught me.
I always loved being included in every club, every activity for and to the community.
This place taught me to be involved more in my community, to give back a little part of what I received. I used to love going on field trips to clean the rivers, streets, help the seniors and more.
I’m so grateful for this program because I can say I was the first student to ever go on a school exchange to the United States in 2018 and come back like a different person, with new knowledge, new perspectives, new friendships, new experiences and new ideas.
I also had the opportunity to teach in The Volcanes Community School for 2 years teaching English to kids from third grade through high school. It wasn’t easy but I did it with the purpose of teaching my students the language and also love for their community and school.
Thank you so much to The Volcanes Community School for shaping me into the person I am today! I wish I could do just a little bit of what you guys did for me.”

“Being at The Volcanes Community School was truly wonderful. Beyond being a place full of learning, it was a place full of smiles and a beautiful childhood. I studied in Volcanes from third grade through middle school, and it was an amazing experience. Thanks to the incredible guidance of the teachers, I am now inspired to become one myself.”

My experience with the Volcanes Kids Education Program began when I was in elementary school, around 2009. I had English classes with Ms. Megan, and I remember her lessons with great nostalgia. They also organized many activities—we were taken out for pizza, on trips, to swimming pools, and more. Without a doubt, those were beautiful moments that became part of my childhood and adolescence. Thanks to the Volcanes Kids Education Program, I have been able to meet my sponsors: Amy Finch, Ron Fahey, Steve Clarke, and Gail Arnold. They are fundamental pillars who have supported me financially so that I could study music professionally in Europe. All of this has helped me achieve many of my dreams. I also have to give special thanks to Mr. Arthur (may he rest in peace) for all the help he gave me. Without his support and that of his wife, Ms. Mayra, I would not be where I am today. They believed in me, and I will be infinitely grateful for that.

Dedicated teachers guide students through English instruction, computer literacy, music education, and service-learning experiences that build leadership and community pride.

We offer INEA’s GED program which allows adults to complete their high school diploma as we strive to meet the diverse needs of our community.
